Tooth Replacement

Your teeth perform an important role in speech, digestion and structural support. Missing teeth can interfere with normal eating and chewing, cause pain and discomfort, make you appear older and affect your self-confidence. Fortunately, there are options to replace one or more missing teeth.

Hawkinsville dentist, Dr. Rence Cheek, performs root canal and crown procedures, and offers dental implant restoration to help patients overcome challenges with broken, decayed or missing teeth and loose dentures.

Root Canal Therapy

It is always preferable to preserve natural teeth whenever possible. A missing permanent tooth will cause neighboring teeth to shift into the open space, affecting alignment and bite, which can damage otherwise healthy teeth. If a tooth has become severly infected, root canal therapy can save the tooth from extraction.

During a root canal procedure the infected nerve and tissue are removed, the canal is disinfected and sealed, and the tooth is restored or “capped” with a dental crown. The tooth remains in place, retaining the its role and function in the mouth.

Dental Implants

When one or more teeth are missing, or cannot be saved from extraction, dental implants offer a solution for tooth replacement. A small cylindrical device is implanted in place of the missing tooth. The implant is then covered with a dental crown, bridge or implant-denture to restore lost chewing function and smile confidence.

Dental implants have become a standard treatment option in dentistry. Dr. Cheek restores implants in the comfort of our Hawkinsville dental office. He works closely with oral surgeons and implant specialists to achieve optimal placement of dental implants for his patients.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

A single dental implant will be restored with a porcelain crown. For patients with multiple missing teeth, implants may serve as anchors at either side for a dental bridge that spans the open space between the teeth.

Implant-supported Dentures

Dental implants can also serve as anchors for a partial or complete denture. The denture appliance will “snap” into place for a more secure fit and improved function.
